Pay Per click, is it worth it?
If you have never heard of pay per click advertising and you’re trying to make your business work online then it’s time to learn.
What is Pay Per Click? Or PPC?…
Pay Per Click also known as PPC is an internet advertising/marketing model where money is not paid unless the ad is actually clicked. In other words, your ad (banner, text, ad, what ever it might be) is featured on the advertiser’s site or search engine free of charge, but once that ad has been clicked payment is required. More often than not you typically give the advertiser a sum of money and they run the ad until the number of clicks given drains your account.
Sounds rather awesome right? Of course it is! You can get your name and business in front of people but only have to pay if they are actually interested.
Pay Per click is …
Pay Per click is one of the most popular forms of advertising on the internet today, and it’s that way for a reason. One of the most services for this type of advertisement is Google AdWords but other forms exists as well like Facebook, internet forums, or just random sites in general.
But you have to know your keywords
As with any marketing aspect for your business, you need to know your target market. The biggest difference is you not only need to know your target market but what keywords they use to find a product or service similar to yours. The beauty of Google AdWords for example is that you can pinpoint your advertisements based off of keywords or phrases, and if you play your cards right this could mean big business in your future.
This has a negative side to it as well though, if you pick the wrong keywords or type of advertisement you just may get lots of clicks. But what you won’t get, is any real conversion. This makes it a giant waste of money.
So Pay Per Click, is it worth it? In my opinion YES, but only if you know what you are doing.
If you don’t know what you’re doing with it, instead I would suggest to play with keywords with tools available within the Google AdWords area. And if that in itself feels overwhelming, well then it’s time to get some lessons from a professional coach, or just hire someone to do it for you. Either way you will save a lot of money by making sure you are doing it right rather than trying random things and hoping they will work.
